Abstract This Decree-Law establishes a new legal regime for milk quotas. It consists of 26 articles regulating cow milk quotas according to article 1 of EC Council Regulations No. 3950/92 of 28 December and No. 1256/99 of 17 May, for a eight-year period from 1 April 2000. It defines all aspects involved within the aforementioned sector and establishes the requirements to be satisfied by milk producers under the control of the National Institution for Agricultural Action and Guarantee (including trading procedures).
