Abstract This Decree-Law, consisting of 41 articles divided into three Chapters and one Annex, approves the structure, organization and functioning of the Ministry of Tourism and Transport (MTT). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of MTT as a government department, whose mission is to design, propose, coordinate, execute and evaluate public policies in the areas of tourism, air transport, etc. MTT in particular is entitled to: develop a concerted and sustained action, articulating the tourism policy with the management and conservation of the natural resources with social, cultural and environmental realities; classify existing tourist offer and forecast its potential growth; participate in the development of territorial management; support national entrepreneurship in these areas and enable business investments that lead to the balanced development of the country; promote training on tourism and air transport, aiming at the qualification of professionals and the training of young people; monitor public investment of tourist interest; monitoring the development of the national tourist offer, etc. Full text Portuguese Website www.legis-palop.org References - Legislation Repeals Decree-Law No. 18/2018 approving the structure, organization and functioning of the Ministry of Tourism and Transport (MTT).
