This Decree-Law shall enter into force on 1 February 1991.
Abstract

This Decree-Law prohibites the use of substances having hormonal action. It consists of 6 chapters and 1 annex specifying a sanitary control system in order to guarantee animal health and avoid human and animal diseases originated by such substances. This Decree-Law is divided as follows: Definitions and areas of application (Chap. 1); Proibition and condition of use of certain substances having hormonal and tireostático actions (2); Trade of animals and animal products (3); Control and research system able to detect residues with such action (4); Sanctions (5); Final provisions (5). Annex specifies hormone residues groups.
