This Decree-Law enters into force one year after its publication.
Abstract

This Decree-Law, composed of 21 articles divided in seven Chapters, aims at regulating the commercialization, information and quality control of child and infant food. In particular, it rules on products’ promotion and on information, training and labelling requirements. Moreover, the Decree-Law institutes the National Council on Breastfeeding and Infant Nutrition, with the aim of supporting Government institutions in defining policies and implementation strategies, as well as monitoring on compliance with the provisions set in the Decree-Law. Finally, it rules on applicable sanctions and penalties for non-compliance.
