Abstract

This Decree-Law establises phitosanitary measures and controls to be applied in order to combat Ralstonia solanacearum bacteria in potato and tomato (approving EC Council Directive No. 98/57 of 20 July). It consists of 11 articles and 7 annexes establishing said sanitary procedures and phitosanitary control to be applied for the eradication of the aforementioned pest (before called Pseudomonas solanacearum (Smith). The aim of this Decree-Law, once determined the distribution of this bacteria, is to fight the introduction and avoid the spreading of this bacteria within the national territory.
