Abstract The Decree-Law adopts feedstuff sanitary measures in order to prevent and to combat bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). It consists of 19 articles and 9 Annexes establishing provisions to be applied on animal feedstuff for the prevention and control of the aforesaid animal disease. It regulates animal feed standards, production, use and trade within the territory of the Republic of Portugal.
