This Decree-Law enters into force the date after its publication.
Abstract

This Decree-Law is composed of five Chapters divided in 18 articles and four annexes. It introduces in the national legal order EC Council Directive No. 2005/24/CE on the use of ova and embryos and storage centres for semen from pure-bred breeding animals of the bovine species. In particular, it rules on: bovine animals’ pure breed, their import and registration. Moreover, the Decree regulates control procedures on genetic value of breeds and defines applicable sanctions. Annexes provide criteria for bovine registration, control methods and certification models.
