Abstract

This Decree-Law amends the National Animal Information Registry (SNIRA). Amendments deal with several aspects, such as: administrative and legal proceedings regarding all establishments where animals or germ-products are detained or slaughtered or their by-products; SNIRA registration requirements, pursuant to EU Parliament Regulation No. 2016/429 and the Council of 9 March 2016. The registration in SNIRA is carried out under the regime of the exercise of the animal activities (NREAP), foreseen in Decree-Law No. 81/2013 of 14 June, or in establishments where animals are slaughtered or their by-products processed, subject to the responsible industry system (CRS). Establishments that are not subject to the NREAP regime nor to the CRS must be registered with SNIRA. In addition, amendments specify new conditions for registration of establishments not subject to the New Livestock Regime or to the Responsible Industry System; Identification means and documentation supporting the registration and movement of animals; Documents emission, etc.
