This Decree-Law enters into force on the day after its publication.
Abstract

This Decree-Law creates the Social Fund called “Fundo MAIS” aimed at financing projects, actions, activities and measures of social policies for the protection of the most vulnerable groups, in order to end with extreme poverty. The Fundo MAIS beneficiaries are people in extreme poverty, predominantly covering the target groups focused on groups I and II of the Social Registry (CSU), namely: a) Poor households in communities without adequate coverage of basic social services; b) Group III households showing the deterioration of their living conditions due to shocks, namely drought, food crisis, pandemics and natural disasters; c) Households headed by women, particularly those who live in rural areas, and who have children under 15 years of age; d) Households having children younger than 5 years old, elderly people or people with disabilities, in a situation of dependency; e) Elderly people or people with disabilities from group III of the CSU who live in isolation; f) CSU group III chronic patients who live in isolation; g) Ex-drug addicts, ex-prisoners and forced and voluntary returnees; h) Victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence; i) Homeless People; and j) Immigrants.
