Abstract This Decree-Law, consisting of five Chapters, establishes procedures for the identification, designation and protection of critical infrastructure for the functioning, security and the economic and social welfare of society, and the responsibilities for designing, defining, coordinating and implementing policies in this area by setting up the device for the protection of critical infrastructure, whose security is the prevention of risks caused by serious accidents, catastrophes or disasters of natural or technological origin and protection against deliberate actions, including any infrastructure located on national territory, regardless of its location and property.
