Abstract This Decree-Law, composed of 18 articles and two Annexes, rules on production, import, export, commercialization and use of iodized salt for human and animal consumption. In particular, it sets the composition standards, its analysis and quality control procedures, labelling and marking requirements, and the related sanctions for non-compliance. Annex I provides part of the Codex Alimentarius Standard for Food Grade Salt CX Stan 150-1985, which shall be the complementary legislation to the present Decree-Law. Full text Portuguese
