Abstract

This Decree-Law approves EC Council Directive No. 98/56 of 20 July on production and trade of plant propagative materials. It consists of 9 chapters regulating ornamental plant seed production and non-ornamental planting materials trade. It establishes all requirements (including sanitary standards) to be satisfied by these products and phytosanitary controls to be carried out (in particular for propagative materials originating from third countries).
