In particular, the Decree-Law defines APSA’s legal status, mission, structure and functions. The Agency takes over the functions and competences of the extinguished Agency for Quality and Food Safety, AQSA. The Decree-Law stipulates that APSA shall act under the general coordination of the Government Presidency and shall be integrating the existing Rapid Alert System (RASFF) as for the assessment and communication of risks in all food process.
