Abstract This Decree-Law, consisting of 4 Chapters, establishes the rules for the protection of appellation of origin and geographical indications of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products. It regulates any products intended or not for human consumption, whether natural or processed, including: wine and wine products, flavoured wines and spirits, non agro-food products, and services. In addition, it regulates process, effects and nullity of the registration and the specification for the official control, in order to ensure reliable information on the products and services that give them an added value, respect for intellectual property rights and integrity on the national and international market.
