It sets the legal system applicable to apiculture sanitary procedures, with the aim of granting bee health and diseases prevention. In particular, the Decree-Law requires a registry for bee breeding activities, defines zoning requirements and introduces an informatic database on the existing activities. Moreover, it provides bee sanitary requirements and classifies controlled areas. Finally, it provides sanctions for non-compliance. Annex I rules on installation requirements; Annex II defines the compulsory diseases to be declared.
