Abstract

This Decree-Law establishes the requirements and purity criteria for colourings to be used in food for human consumption according to EC provisions. It consists of 8 articles and 6 annexes regulating the use of colourings (made by natural ingredients or any other natural substance usually not used as normal food). It does not apply for dry or concentrated food. Annexes list authorized colourings, food which cannot contain colourings, food which can contain certain colourings, etc.
