Abstract This Resolution consisting of 5 articles aims at amending the Water Law by modifying articles 24 and 25 related, respectively, to the responsibilities of the Water Sector Regulatory Council and its financial resources. Regarding the responsibilities of the Council, with the new amendment the powers of the Council must refer to the Council of Ministers, that is, the Council recommends that the Council of Ministers take some action, such as approving water prices or issuing licenses for regional water utilities. The substantial change regarding the Council's finances is that now all revenues of the Council shall be transferred to a special account in the public treasury instead of being deposited in an account specific to the Council.
