Abstract This Decree-Law, consisting of 4 Chapters and 1 Annex, approves the Ministry of Environment, Territorial Planning and Energy (MAOTE). This Decree establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of this Ministry which is a governmental department divided in two from the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea, Environment and Territorial Planning, aiming at defining, coordinating and implementing policies on: environment, territorial planning, urban land planning, climate, conservation of nature, energy, geology and eco-innovation, in view of a sustainable development and social and territorial cohesion, as well as guaranteeing the planning and the coordination of National and community funds in favour to environment, quality of life and valorisation of energy and territorial resources.
