Abstract This Decree-Law, composed 47 articles divided into XI Chapters, provides the basic legislation for the national electricity system (SNE). In particular, the Decree-Law rules on the organizational structure and on the general principles applying to electric energy production, transport, and distribution activities, its public use and protection. The Decree-law devotes special attention to the regulation of the public service of energy supply and the related infrastructural issues as well as the concession regimes and tariffs.
