Abstract

In view of the urgent need to mobilize every means available to combat forest fires especially in the protected areas throughout the country, this Decree-Law authorizes a total of 30 billion lire to be spent for the year 1997 to enable the relevant authorities to deal with the serious threat to life and property posed by these fires. Said amount is allocated under this measure to finance the work of the National Forest Officers (for ground and aerial fire-fighting equipment).
