Abstract

This Decree-Law delimits: Territorial seas (art. 1); archipelagic waters (art. 4); exclusive economic zone (art. 6). The Government of Cape Verde may authorize fishing by foreign vessels by means of bilateral agreements (art. 8). According to international law, the Government of Cape Verde may define specific regulations governing the exclusive economic zone in the following areas: environmental protection, scientific research, installations, marine pipelines, research and exploitation (art. 12).
