Abstract

This Decree-Law approves the Statute of the National Institute of Meteorology of Guinea-Bissau (INM-GB). The above mentioned Statute, consisting of 7 Chapters, specifies composition, duties and competencies of this National Institute, entitled to implement National policies on this area, to guarantee the control over weather forecast and regularly disseminate information on the National territory; to guarantee controls and research on climate change, analyzing the impacts that they may have on local populations; to guarantee the settlement and conservation of meteorological, climatic and hydrometric stations, to guarantee the collection, treatment and analysis of data in the domain of meteorology. This Decree-Law repeals the General Direction of National Meteorology (DGMN) transferring its competencies and functions to the INM-GB.
