Articles 1-5 deal with banana export procedures, requirements and licence fees which are issued by fishery, agricultural and rural ministerial authorities (MPAAR "Ministério das Pescas, Agricultura e Animação Rural"). Articles 6-7 establish quality controls which shall be carried out by the competent authorities. Articles 8-9 lay down the necessary requirements for banana packaging and transport, specifying measures for the protection of cartons, discharge duration and other matters concerning banana quality.
