Abstract This Decree implements the Act on the Financing of Sustainable Forestry (1094/1996), which provides rules for the financing of measures proposed by the recently introduced new Forestry Act (1093/96). Section 1 concerns the use of finance in accordance with the action plan for the protection of forest resources and the construction of forest roads. Section 3 outlines the terms and conditions under which the renewal of forest resources can be financed. Section 4 divides the country into various "financial support areas". Other provisions deal, inter alia, with the amount of financial aid (sect. 5), indication of costs which can be financed (sect. 6), repayment of credits (sect. 9), interest rates (sects. 12 and 13), contents of the application form (sect. 17), supervision (sect. 19), and collection of debts by the county councils (sect. 20).
