Abstract This Decree approves the Regulation for small water dams. The Regulation, consisting of 6 Chapters and 1 Annex, establishes the requirements to be satisfied in order to: design, project, build, exploit, keep, observe and control water dams with a hight lower or equal than 15 metres and storage capacity lower than 1000,000 m3 (a million of cubic metres). The Regulation is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I); Project Technical Requirement (Chap. II); Dam building (Chap. III); Exploitation (Chap. IV); Taxes and financial aspects (Chap. V); Sanctions and penalties (Chap. VI). The Annex defines all the terms related with water dams.
