Abstract This Decree hereby establishes the Geopaleontological Institute of Pietraroja, a state body responsible for the performance of geological, paleontological, naturalistic and landscape related monitoring and protection tasks (regarding certain sites of significant value as cultural and scientific testimony; protection and conservation of habitats and of the landscape) also environmentally connected with the scientific investigation and objectives of conservation and valorization of such geosites.
