Abstract This Decision, based on the provisions of the Serbian Law on regional development, here proclaims the establishment of the Regional Development Council for the Belgrade region (capital city), and further sets the powers and duties to be granted to such state body. In its work, the Regional Council can use the professional assistance provided to it in the form of international projects, and in order to study certain complex issues within its scope of work, it can engage professional educational institutions and prominent experts as members of working groups. Administrative and professional-technical tasks for the needs of the Regional Council are performed by an accredited regional development agency based in the region for which the Regional Council was established, based on the authority of the Regional Council.
