Abstract This Decision, as in accordance and for the purposes of the Montenegrin Law on wine, determines the regions for wine production that represent a unique geographical area with approximately the same agro-ecological conditions, characteristic grape assortment and production technology, which determine the characteristics of wine. Regions for wine production are listed as follows: 1) Montenegrin basin of Skadar Lake, which includes smaller territorial units with specific agro-ecological conditions, which affect the characteristics of the wine: Kučki, Crmnički, Riječki, Podgorički, Piperski, Katunski and Bjelopavlićki (sub-regions); 2) Montenegrin coastal, which includes subregions: Boka Kotorska, Budva-Bar, Ulcinj and Adriatic hinterland; 3) Nudo; and 4) Montenegrin north, which includes subregions: Nikšićki, Bjelopoljski, Šćepan polje and Dragaljsko polje.
