Abstract

This Decision prescribes the criteria and defines necessary procedures for the creation of strategic reserves of standing timber (uncut), as forest areas put in storage to cope with major events (such as an event or a natural or social act that occurs in the country, example-earthquakes, cyclones, lightning, floods, volcanic eruptions), as well as the preservation and treatment of virgin or almost virgin forests, until they pass in complete conservation. Strategic reserves of standing timber (uncut), as forest areas preserved to withstand major events, are created from forest plots and sub-plots which meet the specific criteria (listed in article 3).
