Abstract

This Decision provides for the setting up of a Community framework for cooperation in the field of accidental or deliberate marine pollution. The framework is established for the period 1 January 2000 to 31 December 2006. It aims at supporting and supplementing Member States’ efforts at national, regional and local levels for the protection of the marine environment, coastlines and human health against the risks of pollution (both accidental and deliberate) at sea.
