Abstract This Decision, establishes management measures related to fishing activity for the crustacean species Piesionika narval. The purpose of this provision is to take management measures relating to the fishing of the species Piesionika narval for the rational exploitation of the stock and its conservation within safe biological limits, taking into account socio-economic parameters. The provisions of this Decision shall apply throughout the territory to vessels engaged in Piesionika narval fishing. It specifies that this fishing shall only be practiced by professional fishermen owners of professional fishing vessels. In order to carry out this activity, the vessel must have a fishing authorization. The condition for obtaining a fishing license is having an enforced fishing licence for cage tool (FPO), as defined in Article 1, b. 666/1966 "Fishing vessel licenses", as applicable, have a Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) installed and keep an electronic fishing logbook (ERS). For issuing the fishing authorization, an application must be submitted by concerned fishermen to the Fisheries Authority to which the vessel belongs and which is responsible for. A copy of the decision shall be notified to the Directorate for Fisheries and Management of Fisheries Resources of the Directorate-General for Fisheries of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
