Abstract This Decision, consisting of 5 sections and 3 Annexes, establishes the procedures to be applied for the safety of industrial water waste dams. The Federal Law 12.334, established the National Dam Safety Policy aiming at water accumulation for all purposes, the final or temporary disposal of waste and the accumulation of industrial waste and created the National Information System for Dam Safety (SNISB). It regulates the registration requirements of dams for accumulation purposes of industrial water waste, the minimum relevant information, the qualification of responsible and technical staff, the minimum content and details of the Safety Plan of Dams, Safety Periodic Review and Inspections intended for accumulation of industrial water waste to licensed CETESB enterprises, as established in the above mentioned Federal Law.
