Abstract

These Regulations, of 18 Sections and One Annex, make provisions and establish procedures for the correct registration of Pesticides in Israel. Section (1) gives definitions. Section (2) prohibits from a person to produce, to sell, to import and to hold pesticides unless they are registered pesticides. Secs. (3) and (4) regard registering request procedures. Section (5) deals with labelling conditions. Section (6) prohibits any inappropriate usage of a pesticide. (7) prohibits the marketing and commercializing of a pesticide unless it is a registered pesticide. Section (8) obliges the presence of “poison” and “flammable” symbol on the pesticides label. Section (9) establishes the appointing of a “Professional Committee for Pesticide Registrations” that shall have the duty to advise the Minister of Environment for new pesticide registration requests. Secs. (10) to (13) regard registration procedures. Section (14) establishes a period of Six months within which the Minister shall notify if a request of registration has been accepted. Section (15) prohibits the selling of pesticide unless in their original package and container. Secs. (16) and (17) set transgressors penalties.
