Abstract

These Regulations introduce rules and prescribe measures to prevent risk of injury to person or property in the transportation of specified petroleum in vehicles including road-tankers and trailers and in the loading and unloading of such vehicles at petroleum stores. The requirements of operational safety concern, among other things: (a) preventing risk of ignition, explosion or fire of petroleum vapours due to electricity, static electricity or other source of ignition; and (b) preventing spillage, leakage or escape of petroleum or ignition of petroleum vapours during loading, unloading or transport operations.
