Abstract

This regulation implements the Dangerous Goods Safety Management Act 2001. Sections 8 to 15 are dedicated to safety obligations for manufacturers, importers and suppliers. Sections 16 to 77, set safety obligations for occupiers, intended as any major hazard facility or any dangerous goods location. Part 4 concerns flammable and combustible liquids. It specifies licensing requirements and related procedures. The regulation is completed by 5 schedules. Schedule 1 on prescription for dangerous goods locations and large dangerous goods locations, schedule 2 on hazardous materials and prescribed quantities for major hazard facilities, schedule 3 on requirements for warning placards, schedule 4 on information to be contained on a manifest and schedule 5 contains a dictionary of relevant terms.
