Abstract

This chapter of the Vermont Statutes concerns dams. Its purpose is to protect public safety and provide for the public good through the inventory, inspection, and evaluation of dams in the State. The chapter further provides for jurisdiction of department and public utility commission; investigation by department of fish and wildlife on the potential effects on fish and wildlife habitats of any proposal; approval for flood control dams; inspection of dams; unsafe dam revolving loan fund; hazard potential classifications; and dam inventory and registration.
