Abstract

This Act makes provision for measures to promote the development of arboriculture in Barbados. The Act appoints the Chief Agriculture Officer as the person responsible for the promotion of planting of trees in Barbados and provides for financial support for the planting of approved trees, i.e. trees of a species as specified by this Act or declared to be an approved tree by the Chief Agriculture Officer. Cutting of approved trees for which financial support was granted shall be prohibited without a licence of Chief Agriculture Officer.
