Abstract

These Rules regulate the marketing of sorghum, millet, cassava, rice, legumes, simsim, copra, kapok, chillies, capsicums and vegetables in those districts of the Coast Province specified in the First Schedule to these Rules and declare that such produce shall come under the operation of the Crop Production and Livestock Act. No person shall buy produce unless he or she is in possession of a valid licence obtained from the District Commissioner (“licensing authority”). Various requirements regarding the buying and placing on the market of produce to which these Rules apply are prescribed. Other rules concern the control of quality of produce and lay down certain quality standards.
