Abstract

For paragraph (b) of the definition of East Timor in section 4 of the Crimes at Sea Act 2000, East Timor, following the cessation of the administration of UNTAET under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1272( 1999) of 25 October 1999 at New York, means: (a) when referred to in a geographical sense — the territory formerly so administered by UNTAET; and (b) when referred to as a body politic — the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.
