Abstract

This Regulation lays down some amendments and addenda to Council Regulation (EC) No. 1698/2005 on support for rural development by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and to Regulation (EC) No. 1290/2005 on the financing of the common agricultural policy. As regards Regulation (EC) No. 1698/2005, the amendments mainly deal with the revision of national strategy plans, operations related to priorities as specified in the European Community strategic guidelines, balance between objectives of the European Community financial contribution and conditions governing the measures to improve the quality of life in rural areas. With respect to Regulation (EC) No. 1290/2005, the amendments concern the annual ceiling for European Agricultural Guarantee Fund expenditure.
