Abstract

This Regulation, made under the Access to Genetic Resources and Community Knowledge, and Community Rights Proclamation, provides rules relative to the application under section 14 of the proclamation to access genetic resources and/or community knowledge. An application shall be examined and made public. The Regulation also concerns procedures for non-commercial access and a multilateral system of access. The Community which is custodian the community knowledge shall give consent to the access application. The Regulation specifies rules for the utilization of access-generated funds for biodiversity conservation and defines duties of the Institute of Biodiversity Conservation for purposes of this Regulation. The Institute shall maintain an access register.
