Abstract

This Act provides for a Coordinator General for Remote Indigenous Services, who will monitor, assess, advise in relation to and enhance the development and delivery of services and facilities by governments, in each remote location specified by the Minister, to a standard broadly comparable with that in non Indigenous communities of similar size, location and needs elsewhere in Australia. The Coordinator General shall monitor the implementation of each Local Implementation Plan as defined by the National Partnership Agreement on Remote Service Delivery and shall report regularly to the Minister.
