Abstract

These Regulations implement provisions of the Co-operative Societies Act with respect to a wide variety of matters, including: the Register of Societies; registration of societies; membership of a society; general meetings of a society; powers and duties of the Board of a society; approval of loans by the Board; internal audit; Bye-laws of a society; the Supervisory and Audit Fund; reference of a dispute to the Commissioner for Cooperative Development. Every society, the accounts of which are audited by the Commissioner or a person authorized by him or her, shall make a contribution to the Supervisory and Audit Fund established under these Regulations. Societies shall be registered by the Commissioner in the "Register of Societies".
