Such dogs may be caught by a dog control officer and be reclaimed by the owner within three days after a notification of the dog pound. Where a dog, taken to a dog pound, is certified by a veterinary surgeon to be suffering from a contagious or life-threatening disease, it shall be disposed of under his or her supervision.
