Abstract

The Order establishes that any person may export maize or maize product from Malawi under authority of a license. An application for an export license shall be made in the prescribed form to the Secretary for Trade and shall include the following: (a) a duly completed export license application form; (b) the physical address of the exporter’s business and warehouse where the maize or maize product is stocked; (c) a Business Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation; (d) a Business Residence Permit or Permanent Residence Permit for non-Malawians; (e) an identification document; and (f) a letter of authority to export from the Ministry of Agriculture stating source and quantity of maize or maize product and country of destination. An export license shall be valid for three months.
