This Government Notice, made under section 6 of the Agricultural Pests Act, 1983 (Act No. 36 of 1983), provides for amending the control measures relating to honey-bees, by inserting the definition of beekeeping activities, as the keeping of honey-bees in a managed beehive for the production and harvesting of any bee products, for queen rearing purposes, for commercial pollination services, and for the removal, eradication or relocation of honey-bee colonies. Further amendments concern details on registration of beekeepers and related penalties in case of misconduct.
