The Chief Conservator of Forests or the Chief Game and Wildlife Officer may authorise staring of fires by authorised officers in Conservation Areas under section 4. In each district a Bushfire Control Subcommittee shall be established in accordance with section 5. The Subcommittee may make by-laws for the control of bushfires, indicate burning seasons, draw up burning programmes set up bushfire control units and take other measures specified in section 6.
