Abstract

This Chapter provides for legal assistance in consumer protection proceedings by the Consumer Protection Bureau. The Consumer Protection Bureau shall not provide legal assistance in a fee-generating case unless other adequate representation is unavailable. This rule is established to avoid competition with private attorneys in the representation of clients. The Chapter sets out the conditions on which the Bureau may accept an appropriate civil action.
