Abstract

The present Act lays down provisions relating to consumer protection in general. For the purpose of this Act “goods" mean chattels personal other than things in action or money, and includes emblements, industrial growing crops and things attached to or forming part of the land. The text consists of 109 sections divided into 10 Parts as follows: Disclosure of cost of borrowing (I); Prepayment privileges (II); Relief against acceleration and forfeiture (III); Time sales (IV); Chattel mortgages (V); Statutory warranties on retail sales (VI); Direct sales contracts (VII); Assignees and guarantors (VIII); Licensing (IX); Collection of debts (IX.1); Miscellaneous (X).
