Abstract Section 70 establishes that the Consumers' Bureau is continued as the Consumer Protection Office. The director or any person acting under the authority of the director is responsible for a) the granting, suspending, and revocation of licences in respect of persons required to be licensed under this Act; (a.1) the carrying out of inspections, examinations, audits or tests (with or without a complaint) to determine compliance with this Act, the terms and conditions of a licence or an order, and the taking of such action as the director considers appropriate in the circumstances; (a.2) the receiving, handling and mediation of complaints; (b) the investigation of breaches of this Act, and the taking of such action thereon as may appear appropriate, including the prosecution of offenders; d) the dissemination of information of consumer interest in the widest and most effective manner; Full text English/French Website www.gov.mb.ca
